Male Infertility is a widespread problem and accounts for about 20-30% cases. Acharya Shushruta had explained eleven shukra doshas in sharir sthana. Amongst them kshin shukra resembles oligospermia. Male infertility can be caused by all sorts of beej dosha i.e sperm defects {low count, low volume, less motility. irregular shape, etc}. Amongst these oligospermia i.e sperm counts < 20 million/ml is the commonest condition. Uttarbasti of ashwagandha ghrita may be a boon in oligospermia. In present case study ashwagandha ghrit uttarbasti has increased the count to thrice in just three sittings with marked improvement in erectile dysfunction.

Children are the strength of a nation. Childhood period is the foundation of the life and it is here that seeds for healthy life are laid down, disabled children are of great concern to family as well as the society. Cerebral Palsy (CP) is the leading cause of chronic disability in children, making them socially apart. According to WHO (World Health Organization) approximation, in India estimated incidence of Cerebral Palsy is around 3 / 1000 live births. Spastic CP is the most common form of cerebral palsy and occurs in three-quarters of people affected. Considering the prevalence of spastic CP, the present study was designed to evaluate the role of ‘Shashtika Shali Pinda Sweda’ in spasticity management. Present Study was carried out in 6 patients, by adopting following treatment protocol First 5 days Udvartana, next 5 days Abhyanga with Bala Taila & Nadi Sweda and next 8 days Shashtika Shali Pinda Sweda. The treatment was carried out in three courses with time span of 16 days between each course. Medhya churna was given as internal medication for 86 days along with three courses of Panchakarma procedures. It was found that Shashtika Shali Pinda Sweda helps in reducing the spasticity.

Among all the Rasa Dravyas including Minerals and Metals, Rasa Vagbhata specified that the Loha (Iron) is the best Rasayana Drug available on the Earth. There are two chapters of Rasa Ratna Samucchaya numbering 26 and 28 are exclusively dedicated to Rejuvenation therapy, Out of which the 28th Adyaya deals with Rasayana Loha Kalpas. External Hordeolum (Stye) is the most common diseases of the eye which is routinely reported. In such case, hot fomentation, NSAIDs, eye drops of antibiotics are usually preferred. The present case have been treated with leech therapy where leech was applied upon the inflamed part of eye lid only for once. Although in the management of stye, Raktamokashan is indicated but no reports has been published earlier in such conditions. After leech application, severe pain subsided at the inflamed area instantly. It proposes a good and cost effective approach to minimize the pain instantly with Raktamokshana.

Pothaki is a disease manifested at eye lid due to vitiation of Kapha Dosha. It characterized by formation of Rakta Sarshapa or Shweta Sarshapa Sanniba Pidakas at the lid. Its clinical features closely resembles Trachoma which caused by Chlamydia trachomatis. The present survey was done to know the prevalence and severity of disease in the patient attending to the Hospital. The observations reveals that maximum number of patients i.e 55.24% were recorded in the month of March, lacrimation was found in 69.72% of individuals and conjunctival scarring was found in 93.57% of individuals. The present study reveals the prevalence of trachoma in this particular area. Incidence of 55.24 % of patients effected Pothaki was recorded in the month of March which was highest. 82.56% patients were having congestion of tarsal conjunctiva with predominant features like foreign body sensation, lacrimation, and mucoid discharge.

Charaka has mentioned Aachara Rasayana for perfect mental, physical, social, spiritual health of human being. Aachara means behavioural discipline which guides and motivates the persons to have social happiness and mental stability. In this competitive era with hectic schedules, it’s the need of hour to follow Aachara Rasayana for leading healthy, mentally peaceful life. Today’s youth are deviating themselves by improper or unethical conduct. The purpose of this study is to reveal whether the students of Ayurveda, who are aware of Aachara Rasayana are practising it and up to what extent; and secondly to establish an interrelation of Aachara Rasayana on their physical-mental health and effect on academic performance as well as social behaviour. 66 students of final BAMS were selected for the survey by an objective questionnaire in a single blind method. On the basis of answered questionnaire, the students were categorized into three groups viz; Poorly following, moderately following and strongly following Aachara Rasayana. Students were also assessed on various observations like health status, academic performance, attendance, participation in co- curricular and extracurricular activities, behaviour with teachers and peers. Out of 66 students, 17 who strongly followed Aachara Rasayana were good at academics, enjoying good physical and mental health and friendly reputation among peers. 36 students following moderate Aachara Rasayana had variability and were enjoying satisfactory to good physical and mental health, minor health problems, intermittent stress and didn’t have healthy peer relation. 13 students poorly followed Aachara Rasayana were comparatively slow learners and had low attendance. The study concludes that following Aachara Rasayana leads to a good physical, mental and social health.

Charaka had depicted several treating modalities against Vandhyatva several years ago. He highlighted about Vajikaran Tantra and Vajikarana Chikitsa to treat infertility. The importance of Vajikarana suits very conveniently in present era as Vajikarana treats not only the individual but it also empowers the capacity of healthy procreation and generation in their progeny (Cha.Chi. 2/4/51). In Vajikaran chapter he had enlisted many Kalpoushadhi to treat male infertility. Proper use of the following three Shukrajanaka, Shukrapravartaka and Shukrajanaka-Shukrapravartaka; Aahara, Vihara and Aushadhi definitely helps in treating male infertility promisingly. Intelligence is the capacity to acquire knowledge, understanding and using it in different novel situations. Children with high level of intellectual power are inevitable for the present competitive era and a healthy childhood is therefore mandatory for expecting a healthy adult life. Shatapushpa (Anethum sowa Kurz) is a simple and easily available drug with its action in various diseased and healthy conditions. Acharya Kashyapa had well praised the drug by indicating it to increase Medha (Intellect), Smruthi (Memory) and to boost the individual Shruthadhara (one who retains what is heard). However no study has been conducted with respect to its efficacy in children, hence the present study was intended. Assessment of Medha and Smruthi as Medham Grahnena (grasping power) and Smruthim Smaranena (retention power) is found in Charaka Samhitha. Based upon this reference Intelligent Quotient (IQ) is taken as the criteria for assessment with the help of Indian adaptation of Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children 3^rd edition. The scale consisted of 5 verbal and 5 performance subtests the entities assessed by them are considered as various functional units of Buddhi, Medha and Smruthi. Study revealed that trial drug Shatapushpa increased verbal (14.64%), performance (13.34%) and overall IQ (13.93%) significantly when compared to placebo after one month of treatment.

Drug design in Ayurvedic pharmaceutics has always been unique and time tested. Most of the times, literature has led us to consolidated evidence. It is acceptable fact that these medicaments have always been questioned constantly due to presence of heavy metals. Mercury being a major threat among the heavy metals, is being banned from the world. At this juncture its need of the hour to look and generate evidence for its benefits and facts. There are number of studies conducted by various research scholars, which are needed to be reviewed to have a better knowledge and to get confidence in practitioners. A review on mercurial preparations like Kajjali, Parpati and Rasasindura has been done in present study. It was found that ample numbers of studies were taken up regarding their safety, efficacy in experimental models and clinical trials in humans. Mercurial preparations taken up in present study had attained a stable organo-metallic compound form and was found safe for medicinal use in their respective therapeutic dose. Successful treatment depends on the choice of appropriate dose and dosage form. Presently advancement in technology has led to the extensive use of fractionate & isolates. Principles of extraction are seen in the classical dosage forms where a suitable homogenous medium was used based on the type of the drug. Drugs having water-soluble fraction are used as Kwatha, those having fat-soluble fractions are used as Ghruta/Taila and so on. Present day extracts are obtained by extracting herbal drug of certain particle size with suitable extraction medium. Drug action in Ayurveda is explained based on Rasa Panchaka, and each component plays a specific role, hence a chemically isolated derivative may not serve the purpose and will produce adverse effects. Isolation, fractionation are seen because of advancement in technology and research methods and can these be called Ayurvedic medicines is a question to be asked.
